This year will be the 35th anniversary of Write on the Sound (WOTS), a small, affordable local writers conference focused on the craft of
writing. A broad variety of sessions, workshops, and panel discussions
are available for all levels and interests, including valuable
information regarding today’s writing and publishing industry. There are also writing contests and manuscript critiques!
WOTS is a program of the City of Edmonds Arts Commission and normally held in the beautiful waterfront town of Edmonds, Washington, just north of Seattle. This year's event is following suit with other major conferences and festivities and will be held all online October 1 – 4, 2020, due to the pandemic. Registration opens August 5, at 9 a.m.
I was excited to see the keynote speaker will be Jane Friedman. If you've viewed my Writer Resources page or I've worked with you on a book manuscript, you know that I link to and recommend her website a lot. Jane freely shares her wealth of publishing-industry knowledge and experience on her website, which includes invaluable resources for writers, both for self-publishing and traditional.
Jane is also a highly sought-after speaker at writing conferences, so I highly recommend "attending" WOTS if you can!
